Abdallah Dadour, born in Damascus in 1929, was a prominent Syrian painter known for his depictions of Damascus and its people. A graduate of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, Dadour's work captured the essence of Damascene daily life and architecture. His paintings, often rendered in a realistic style with impressionistic and expressionistic touches, evoke a sense of nostalgia and memory. Dadour exhibited extensively throughout the Arab world and Europe and his works are held in numerous public and private collections. He passed away in 2021, leaving behind a significant legacy in Syrian art.
