Abdul Qadir al Rassam, born in Baghdad in 1882, is considered a pioneer of modern Iraqi art. He received his early artistic training in military school before pursuing further studies in Istanbul. Al Rassam is celebrated for his realistic and impressionistic depictions of Iraqi landscapes and scenes of daily life. His paintings captured the beauty of Iraq's natural environment and the charm of its cultural heritage. Al Rassam's legacy as a foundational figure continues to influence Iraqi artists today. He passed away in 1952.
